Quotes

"No questions about Guns n Roses or Axl Rose.” It’s long been a common proviso affixed to any interview Slash conducts, and with his former band’s recent induction into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall Of Fame, and the commotion surrounding Rose’s non- appearance at the ceremony, it’s become a lot more pointed this time around. Luckily Slash, unlike Rose, has carved an impressive body of work since the core Guns n Roses lineup imploded (along with bassist Duff McKagan’s pancreas) in the mid ‘90s, which offers many possible points of conversation. Still, it doesn’t stop publications (TMN included) from trying to get him to look back at his recorded work from those hedonistic days. Slash won’t be drawn on whether there’s any one recording in his back catalogue he is most proud of, or conversely if there’s anything he’d like to wipe from his canon given half the chance."
Neil Finn told TMN: "The Art Of Music is a beautifully unique event which allows musicians and painters to cross pollinate and have a great night out together. Apart from producing some amazing art, it is a great way raise money for music therapy, now proven and trusted as an incredibly positive influence on the lives of many disabled people."
"We didn’t know that song would connect the way that it did. It ended up in so many different places and it became a part of culture, in a way.”"
"So far the key driver behind the song's success here has been the viral activity - there's over 100m views of clips featuring AWOLNATION music, and the amazing clip featuring daredevil extraordinaire Jeb Corliss is top of the tree. Google 'Jeb Corliss Grinding The Crack'. Almost 15m views, and it's incredible how many people you show it to that say 'Oh, i know that song! This clip is amazing'."
